The Student Perspective of Colorado
College - Monday, April 27, 2009
Last fall, through a collaboration of the Office
of Student Life, a CC film course, Professor Tonja
Olive and the Colorado College Student Government
Association, the College embarked on a fascinating
project to portray current campus life from the student
perspective. The project was not designed to be a
statistical research project, although the survey
return percentage was outstanding. Nor was the video
product it meant to be for admissions. The project
was designed to view the students' perspective through
as wide a lens as possible, including a survey, informal
discussion (focus groups) and video recording.
Please join VP for Student Life and Dean of Students
Mike Edmonds, Professor Tonja Olive and members of
the student government association as we watch the
video and then discuss the implications for modifying
campus culture, especially the academic side, for
our students. The video runs for 30 minutes so please
try to adjust your early afternoon schedules to accommodate
a longer than usual session.
