PatriziaIt gives me great pleasure to present the 6th annual Colorado College Dance Festival, to be held from June 29 to July 17, 2009 in Colorado Springs on the Colorado College campus. The core of our mission lies within our commitment to educate young professional dancers through our rigorous three-week intensive technique classes taught by distinguished faculty. We also strive to enlighten both students and audiences with our Informance series, which seeks to contextualize diverse dance forms through a combination of lecture and performance. Our Faculty Gala Performance showcases our distinguished faculty in original works, as well as, select students in repertory choreographed by the Artist in Residence.

The festival provides full-time registrants six hours of daily technique work with an emphasis on modern dance. Other featured techniques include flamenco, capoeira, ballet, contact improvisation, yoga, gyrokinesis®, BMC, and repertory. Open rehearsal space is available in the evenings for festival participants who would like to choreograph their own work, which will be showcased in the final week of the Festival in the Young Artist Concert, held in our new state-of-the-art Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center.
